streetwear resurgence
The baggier, the better.
With the likes of Billie Eillish and Rihanna showing us streetwear is appropriate anywhere, it was only a matter of time for streetwear to - well - hit the streets again. Oversized denim, vintage inspired flannels and graphic crop-tops to name a few, the clothes that teens were fashioning in the 90s have become somewhat of a uniform for today's youth.

The crop top look
A crop top and track pants - could it get more 90s?
The combination of hip-hop influence and femininity is the definition of a 'model off-duty' look. Naomi Campbelll and Tyra Banks favoured the crop-top on their days off, with models such as Bella Hadid carrying the torch for the off-duty style.
Superstars were a staple in the 90s, after RUN-DMC released their song 'My Adidas' which influenced a huge switch from Nike to Adidas - especially Superstars. Baggy clothing was heavily influenced by the style of 90s hip-hop artists like TLC and LL Cool J.

The oversized look
Oversized everything!
Another trend which hip-hop heavily influenced but one which wasn't often fashioned by women until recently. Lauryn Hill and Aaliyah were vital in proving women can wear oversized too; paving the way for those female celebs today.
Perfectly paired with baggy track pants, oversized tees have grown hugely in popularity, with over 4000 search results on ASOS. Whether it's graphic, striped or tie-dye, an oversized tee was a staple in a 90s wardrobe.

The flannel look
The essential for any grunge-loving teen in the 90s - a flannel.
Flannels come in thousands of different patterns and colourways, but to stay true to the grunge roots, a dark checkered flannel is the best. The flannel and crop top combo was made famous by the likes of Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), but Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid have adopted the look in recent years.

The cut out look
Cut-outs and baggy jeans - a look giving a subtle nod to the 90s rave scene.
The 90s was all about pushing boundaries and that was not only in fashion but in culture. Rave and hip-hop saw a huge rise in the 90s and the fresh ideologies which the genres were introducing were definitely present within the decade's fashion trends.
